Damián Comas is a Spanish author and screenwriter. Two of his screenplays were co-written with film director Carlos Bolado, and two others were selected by IMCINE for project development. He was a finalist in the X Literaris Premis Constantí, Barcelona, ​​2016 and winner of the Becario de Jóvenes Creadores del FONCA. He has been writing his first television series for the Colombian production house Dramax.

Damián Comas has been adapting CENIZAS into a screenplay.

Summary

Julio, the novel's protagonist, was a political prisoner in Argentina for many years. His wife was disappeared, as was his daughter. Upon his release, he decides to escape the country with the help of his father. On his way up north, in Uruguay, he shoots a man in a suit dead. The reader doesn't know who this man was or why Julio killed him until later in the novel. Julio finally reaches the safety of Mexico, where they agree to take him in, and when he phones his father to let him know he's safe he finds out he too has been disappeared. The heart of the novel has to do with the repression and state terrorism of Argentina's dictatorship in the 70s and 80s.

    Damián Comas (born 1984) is a Spanish author and screenwriter. He has a PhD in Literary Creation and a Master in Theoretical Art Studies. His first novel CENIZAS was the winner of the XIX Spanish Letters Award, University of Seville, 2013-2014. Two of his screenplays were co-written with film director Carlos Bolado, and two others were selected by IMCINE for project development. He was a finalist in the X Literaris Premis Constantí, Barcelona, ​​2016 and winner of the Becario de Jóvenes Creadores del FONCA. He has been writing his first television series for the Colombian production house Dramax. He has also been adapting CENIZAS into a screenplay.
